Investa announces WELL Health-Safety rating achievement

Investa is delighted to announce that Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF) and Oxford Investa Property Partnership (OIPP) have both received a WELL Health-Safety Rating for their office portfolios from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). This is a significant milestone for Investa, marking one of the first portfolio wide accreditations of this scale to be awarded in Australia.

“Investa is thrilled to receive this rating. It’s a testament to the work our building teams do every day to ensure our buildings provide a safe and healthy environment for our occupants,” said Sally Franklin, Group Executive, Real Estate Services and Business Operations. “We’re confident this third-party verification will help provide peace of mind for our tenants, as they continue to return to the office in increasing numbers in the post pandemic environment.

Business Project Manager and Project Lead, Megan Francis said: “The achievement of this rating demonstrates that Investa has gone above and beyond the relevant state-based legislation when making decisions with regard to safeguarding its buildings and occupants during the pandemic.”

Investa was awarded the WELL Health-Safety Rating following the successful completion of third-party documentation review by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) to confirm it has met the feature specific intents and requirements.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing buildings, focusing on operational policies, maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and into the future.Designed to empower owners to take the necessary steps to prioritise the health and safety of their staff, visitors and stakeholders, the WELL Health-Safety Rating helps to instil confidence in those who come through the buildings as well as the broader community.

“Investa has a demonstrated track record in actively managing its buildings for optimal environmental performance, said Brendan Looby, ICPF Fund Manager. “We are committed to ensuring optimum health and wellbeing outcomes for those who work and visit our buildings, and this is just one of many activities identified within our strategy,” he said.

Nicole Quagliata, OIPP Fund Manager echoed his sentiments: “OIPP is proud to offer our tenant organisations a workplace that has an internationally recognised Health and Safety rating embedded in the buildings.”

“Investa has demonstrated outstanding leadership from the start,” said IWBI President and CEO Rachel Hodgdon.

“As a founding member of the WELL Portfolio Advisory and early participant in the WELL Portfolio program, Investa has continued to prioritise health and well-being, and has just achieved the third-party validated WELL Health-Safety Rating across its entire portfolio. We are delighted to celebrate this achievement with Investa and are grateful for their enterprise-wide commitment to health, well-being, and social sustainability.”

The WELL Health-Safety Rating provides a centralised source and governing body to validate efforts made by owners and operators.

It leverages insights drawn from the IWBI Task Force on COVID-19, in addition to guidance on the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), global disease control and prevention centers and emergency management agencies and leading academic and research institutions, as well as core principles already established by IWBI’s WELL Building Standard.
